Advice For Work From Home Moms

Advice For Work From Home Moms

Article by Luther McKinney

Accuse me of being “old-school” but I’m wholly convinced that at least one parent should be home with the children at least until they are old enough to go to school. It’s not sexist, but optimally this would be “Mommy”", since she does have the proper equipment to meet the needs of baby. In not too many years past our country has moved away from the traditional familiy unit and often both parents have to work just to pay the bills, or even worse, your household only has one parent… you! After my angel was born the plan of just handing her off to the local day-care facility was a lot like the possibility of having both my hands cut off. The idea of taking the sweetest, most important little being that I had ever known and just pass her off to some strangers to watch over her for nine or ten hours each day was just purely insane as far as I was concerned.Well, we were able to make make provision to keep our daughter at home so that she could be with us and not raised by strangers. I is clear after talking to many other parents that the concept of Dad going to work and Mommy staying home and raising the children is now not the norm. This is not okay. Our country, most of it anyway is in a situation where our kids are being raised by the government. Nearly all day-care facilities are regulated by some division of the government, as if that person, simply because they are employed by a government office, somehow understands more about what our kids need than we do.Some of you don’t have any other options though right? God forbid you should be a single mom right now, especially with the prices for everything going up like a rocket. It is no easy task. Heck, day-care can cost as much as you make. In some situations there is not point in even working, unless you want to spend it all on child-care and work for nothing. But, you have to buy food, and it’s not just all about you.And if you have ever had the misfortune of attempting to find work so that you could be a work from home mom I’m sure you found for yourself that this is not something that is easy to find. Huge chucks of time wasted searching and most of the time you’ll find nothing that fits your needs. Two problems. There is a lot of competition for such work and there’s millions of other work from home moms vying for the same positions, and if you are fortunate enough to catch one in time to land it it probably doesn’t pay very much.Right after we brought our new daughter home from the hospital we spent a ton of time looking for work from home moms-type work for “Mommy”. The hours just ticked off, searching, searching, searching. Several months pass by while you are doing this and any ad you find which seems to apply to what you are looking for seems as if it gets filled the moment it is published. After a while you have to realize that you are just wasting a ton of time, and even if you do find something good you have already invested 100 hours searching for no pay.One advice to solve this problem could be to actually start your own small business. I realize that you may be thinking that you don’t have enough money to start a business. That may be. It could be that you have an interest in some area or a particular talent that you would like to build a business on and you may have found that it required too hefty of an investment for you. Understand that today there are many opportunities that work from home moms can use to start their own business which cost very little to get up and running. The key is in finding something that is suited to you, which you have the skills to do, or which provides training so that you can develop your skills. Forget about franchises. They are expensive to start and most likely you will stay in the red for the first year or two, defeating the purpose of looking for work from home as a mom. Probably you are looking for something which can product income quickly, which doesn’t require too much of a learning curve or much investment. For myself, though I’m a Dad, not a Mom, I was able to find a few things that were workable in the network marketing industry. There are so many different opportunites available in this arena, it’s not like the old days, or even 10 years ago. Now the biggest problem is in doing the research to find a company that fits your personality and a sponsor that you can work with. I actually went through a couple opportunities before I found the right one, and the right sponsor who was helpful and who taught me a lot of the technical, computer and internet stuff I needed to know in order to be able to do it online.I always thought that this business was well suited to work from home moms because it’s flexible, it’s social and you can do it from home, even with a baby in your lap. I know. Because now my daughter is 3 and I have done more than my share of work with her in my lap or playing on the floor next to me. And even though it took a few months to get it up and running, I found that with the right instruction from someone who knows what they are doing you can build a little business like this up to a point where you can do it part-time from home and still have a full-time income. I do now. Not that what I am doing would be right for you. Like I said, you want to do your research and find an opportunity and a sponsor that you can work well with, who is willing to help you, and who has the ability to provide what you need in the way of mentoring. The rest is just getting to work and having a little motivation of your own.
