You leave them alone. If you touch them, many times mom will kill them (this only applies until after they are leaving the nest on their own, which is around 10 days). The oils on your hand will make the babies smell wrong.
If this is mom’s first litter, she might just be inexperienced. There’s really not much you can do. Some hamsters don’t make very good moms (just like any animal) and will always have fewer babies who live… but in most cases it’s just the first-timers.
Just try to leave mom and babies alone, but make sure they have enough food (only mom will eat at this point, but if she fears a food shortage, she might kill the weaker babies).
Good luck!

To move newborn kittens, allow the mother cat to care for the kittens if she is around, and try to move all the kittens at once to a safe place if the mother is not around or the situation is dangerous. you should just let his mother do her job and stay over him feeding him , and keeping him warm all the time . But you can’t touch him because she will stop taking care of him.But take care of his mother . Anything else you can’t do . I had hamsters and like 24,of them so …just don’t touch him until he is 3or 4 weeks and he has a little fur on him and he can eat by himself .
you do not! dont touch them at all or the mum will eat them herself because of your scent. the mother looks after them perfectly well herself. so not clean her cage out. just make sure she is provided with plenty of food and water.

leave them alone ; and separate the father and the babies because he will eat them .
Well, having a lot of experience in this area, I can offer you a few tips:
1.) Make sure the only other hamster in the cage is the mom. This is crucial, because any other hamster will eat the babies!
2.) Make sure the babies and the mom are safe in a nice nest the mom should have made.
3.) After a few days, put peanut butter on a celery or carrot stick and put it in the hamsters cage. It is good protein for both mom and babies.
It is posible the mom diesn’t want/know how to properly care for her babies, and in that case you just have to let nature take it’s course. I hope all goes well for you!!!!!
One of our cats just had her second litter, she waits until we get home, and then as soon as i get near them, and sit down, she gets up and wants out for the next hour or so, then comes back and feeds them, lays there for a while and does her own thing. First time i came near them, she rubbed up against me, i warmed up a bottle of water and wrapped it up and towel for her, they’re warm and snug. Shes perfectly FINE letting us near them, etc. Shes also spoiled. haha
a neighborhood cat had kittens and she lets me move them towards her and pet them. probably cuz i feed her
There’s nothing more precious on earth than a newborn kitten! (and all cats!)
